【카미디어】 뉴스팀 = 르노삼성자동차가 10월 2일, 르노그룹의 상용차 핵심 주력모델인 마스터의 판매가격을 공개하고 사전 계약에 돌입했다. 국내에 출시되는 마스터는 2가지 버전으로 마스터 S와 마스터 L가 각각 2,900만원, 3,100만원이다. 당초 예상보다 경쟁력 있는 가격으로 나왔다는 평이 지배적이다.
르노삼성도 가격을 강조했다. 그간 국내에서 판매되는 중형 밴 타입의 상용차 모델은 개인 사업 및 중소형 비즈니스 규모에서는 구매하기 어려운 가격대였던 것이 사실이다. 르노삼성 측에 따르면 구매 고객에게는 매력적인 가격대를 제시하는 동시에, 중형 상용차 시장에 변화를 줄 수 있는 공격적인 가격대로 책정했다는 설명이다.
마스터 S와 마스터 L은 각각 전장 5,050mm / 5,550mm, 전폭 2,020mm(S, L 동일), 전고 2,305mm / 2,485mm의 외관 사이즈로 높이와 길이에서 차이가 있다.
여기에 넓은 사이드 슬라이딩 도어와 545mm로 매우 낮은 상면고(바닥으로부터 적재함까지 높이)를 가지고 있어 화물의 상, 하차 시에 작업자의 부담을 덜어준다. 또한 적재용량 측면에서 공간과 작업 효율성을 제공한다.
마스터 S와 마스터 L의 적재함은 각각 높이 1,750mm / 1,940mm, 길이 2,505mm / 3,015mm, 폭 1,705mm(S, L 동일) 그리고 적재중량은 각각 1,300kg / 1,200kg이다.
한국형 마스터는 르노그룹의 최신 엔진기술이 적용된 2.3L 트윈터보 디젤 엔진을 적용하여 최고출력 145마력, 최대토크 36.7kg.m를 낸다. 출발 가속 영역인 1,500rpm에서 최대 토크가 나오게 되어 있어 최대 적재용량을 싣고도 여유로운 운전이 가능할 것으로 보인다.
상용차인 만큼 연비도 큰 관심거리다. 마스터의 연비는 리터당 10.8 km(마스터 S)/10.5km(마스터 L)다. 차량의 성격을 따져보면 준수한 연비다. 연료를 아끼기 위한 ECO 모드와 오토스탑&스타트 시스템 등이 추가로 들어갔다.
시장의 관심은 스타렉스와의 경쟁구도다. 상용 밴 시장은 그랜드 스타렉스가 사실상 독점하고 있다. 직접경쟁 모델이 되는 스타렉스 3인승 밴 가격대는 2,200만원 선이다. 다만 최대적재량은 스타렉스가 800kg으로 마스터와는 큰 차이를 보인다.
약점도 분명하다. 유럽 가격이 4000만원에 육박하는 것에 비하면 국내 출시 가격이 분명 경쟁력 있는 가격이다. 그러나 직접경쟁모델인 스타렉스의 가격이 700만원 이상 저렴하다. 또한 스타렉스는 자동변속기를 선택할 수 있지만 마스터는 수동변속기만 가능하다.
마스터의 시장에서 안착여부는 출시 3개월 이내 판매량에서 갈릴 것으로 보인다.
